M3NET

Minority Med Mentorship Network

Uplifting underrepresented students pursuing healthcare — grounded in excellence, driven by culture, connected through community.

How to Join M³NET

Membership is open to all Kent State University students who support our mission. Here's how to become part of our community, step by step.

1

Confirm Your Eligibility

Any KSU student who supports our mission of advocating for minorities in healthcare is welcome. You don't have to identify as a minority — but you do need to believe in the cause. Students in pre-medicine, pre-PA, nursing, public health, or related fields are especially encouraged to apply.

2

Complete the Registration Form

Fill out the official M³NET registration form to formally enroll as a member. This captures your contact information, area of healthcare interest, and how you'd like to get involved. Watch our social channels for the form link each semester.

3

Attend a General Body Meeting

Show up to at least one general body meeting. Meetings are held at minimum bi-weekly each semester. This is where you'll meet the team, learn about upcoming events, and connect with fellow members passionate about healthcare.

4

Stay Active & Engage

Participate in meetings, mentorship sessions, service initiatives, and events as your schedule allows. Active members who demonstrate consistent involvement become eligible for leadership opportunities and exclusive benefits within the organization.

5

Consider Running for Leadership

After at least a semester of active involvement, eligible members can apply for an Executive Board position. Requirements include a 3.0+ GPA, second-year standing or above, 75% event attendance, and 65 hours of volunteer service. Elections involve an application, interview, and board vote.

Open Membership

New members may join at any point during the academic year — no waitlists, no closed periods.

General Members

Participate in events and meetings as your schedule allows. Every level of involvement counts and is valued.

Active Members

Regular attendance, event participation, and contributions to mentorship and outreach unlock leadership pathways.

Executive Board

Elected leaders who shape the organization's direction, coordinate events, and represent M³NET to the university.

Executive Board Roles

Our Executive Board drives every aspect of M³NET, from strategy to day-to-day operations. Each role carries meaningful responsibility and real impact.

President
Executive Board

The chief leader of M³NET. The President facilitates all meetings, enforces accountability across the board, and serves as the organization's primary representative to professors, advisors, and external partners. They set the tone for culture, oversee strategic planning, and ensure all activities align with the org's mission.

Vice President
Executive Board

The VP steps in for the President when needed and ensures the organization runs smoothly day-to-day. They coordinate communication between the board and general membership, track deadlines, support event planning, and drive leadership development and succession within M³NET.

Secretary
Executive Board

The organizational backbone of M³NET. The Secretary keeps accurate records of meetings and attendance, sends timely reminders and announcements to all members, and manages official club documents and forms. They keep everyone informed and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

Marketing & Finance Director
Executive Board

Manages both the organization's brand and its budget. This director prepares semesterly budgets, tracks expenses, and distributes monthly financial updates to the President. On the marketing side, they lead promotional campaigns, coordinate event outreach, and strengthen M³NET's visibility on campus and beyond.

Our Values

Everything M³NET does flows from a core set of beliefs about fairness, community, and the future of healthcare.

"We empower students to rise as future leaders in healthcare — grounded in excellence, driven by culture, and connected through community. Through our work, we guide future healthcare professionals and empower them to make a lasting impact reducing health disparities and advancing unprejudiced care for all."

Fairness in Healthcare

We believe every individual deserves equal access to quality healthcare, regardless of background. Reducing health disparities isn't just a goal — it's a responsibility we carry as future professionals.

Community & Belonging

We celebrate many cultures and create spaces where every member feels valued, supported, and heard. Different perspectives strengthen our network and enrich our mission.

Excellence

We hold ourselves to high standards — academically, professionally, and personally. Mentorship through M³NET means being guided by, and growing into, the best version of yourself.

Mentorship & Growth

Real guidance changes trajectories. We connect students with mentors, resources, and opportunities that open doors — especially for those navigating healthcare pathways without a roadmap.

Advocacy

We amplify voices that are too often overlooked. Advocacy starts on campus and extends to every patient, every community, and every health outcome we can influence throughout our careers.

Inclusivity

M³NET welcomes all students who believe in our mission. While we center the experiences of underrepresented communities, we know that building a fairer healthcare system is work for everyone.

Integrity & Professionalism

We lead with honesty, responsibility, and respect — in every meeting, event, and interaction. The standards we hold ourselves to on campus are the standards we'll carry into clinical practice.

Non-Discrimination

Membership, leadership, and resources are never denied based on race, ethnicity, sex, religion, disability, or any protected characteristic. Equal access is not optional — it's foundational.

Donate to M³NET

Your generosity fuels our mission to uplift underrepresented students in healthcare and extend care to those who need it most — locally and globally.

M³NET is committed to two pillars of giving: investing in our own members' growth and resources, and channeling support toward life-changing charitable causes around the world. Every dollar donated — whether to our club or to a global cause — is a step toward a fairer future. Thank you for standing with us.
